Ram recently revealed an exciting new addition to its lineup in the form of an all-electric Ram 1500. While the model that was first teased back in April will only be a concept truck for now, Ram is planning to use it to gather feedback from current Ram 1500 owners around Rochester, NH and beyond on what they'd like to see in the real deal, which we expect to arrive at Key Chrysler Dodge Ram of Portsmouth in 2024.
Built on the STLA Frame
The electric Ram 1500 will be built on the most powerful and capable of four modular EV platforms. These platforms were designed by Ram's parent company, Stellantis, to provide a strong basis for any electric vehicle from Chrysler, Ram, Dodge or Jeep. Three of these platforms are for your typical ride around Sanford, ME, but the fourth one is specifically designed for body-on-frame vehicles like Ram's trucks. According to Stellantis CEO Carlos Tavares, Salisbury, MA drivers can expect the electric Ram 1500 to outperform competitors' models in areas like range, towing capacity and payload capacity.
A Modern Design
The electric Ram 1500 won't just be a Ram 1500 with an electric powertrain. It comes with a beautiful design that compliments the futuristic nature of the electric truck nicely. Our Dover customers particularly love the unique design of the LED headlights. These converge on a bright Ram emblem that has sharper angles than usual.
We'll be sure to keep you updated on the electric Ram 1500 as we get more information. We expect to see the concept debut this fall. You have some time before you need to think about picking up the electric version, so why not spend that time in the next best thing? We invite you to explore the current generation of Ram 1500 models here in Portsmouth while you wait!
